We're living longer, but are we living better?

I don't think it has changed much. We started out burning wood to get warmer and in Jordan we are back to exactly that :)
We may take the cause of people's worries lightly a 100 years ago, but they are just as plausible as our complaints in today's settings.
Definitely NOT. I just wrote a post on my blog and I do think that we live in worse times.
Actually, it depends on what you refer to. If you mean quality of life then it is worse, but if you mean everything else then it is better.
But I wonder how someone can be happy with the tangible things and ignore the intangible ones, it should be a combination of both.
I think living was better in the past,
Less reality shoocks !!
very easier..
living longer is not that great thing...wselna 25 we 6el3at roo7na :P
I think we are neither living better nor worse than before. It depends largely on what you compare, which time you define as 'before' and the social class you would've been in. Personally I think I do live better than my grandmother did - If we speak about freedom of choice, less work, less worries, longer childhood etc. On the other hand, her life was more fulfilled than mine, and maybe she has been happier than I am.
I used to wish myself into certain historical periods, and imagine how my life would've been. Then I started asking myself: what if it wouldn't be like I wanted? what if I ended up being a slave for example, or in a place where a big war is? what if I end up in a very poor family and have nothing to eat? or what if I was confined in a big palace, never allowed to go out of it?
There are always thousands of possibilities, even if you think of more recent times. You can never choose your life, and I do not think it would have been much different in the past.
last sentence: You can never choose your life, and I do not think that would have been much different in the past.
I dont think I could compare. I wouldnt be doing justice to neither subjects. Circumstances are different with time difference. But in comparison to the things we are provided with these days, we could do so much better than what we're doing.
My grandmother says, you don't know the exact value of water if you didn't carry a large amount on your back to bring home. Now... water runs in our own houses and we lack to appreciate.
politics & religion are worse. We're lacking substance and the true meaning of a valued tradition. Education could be the only thing going well and thats only because people want money?
nope. the world is still the same ol' shithole it always was.
you just have better technology to watch all the assholes running around, thats all
i don't think so..
thanks a lot foe commenting, sorry i got suddenly busy and could not check my site
You constantly want to define what you have to benefit a prospective company, not what you desire from them. Why tie up your cash or borrow more than you need for exams when there was no need to. Huge profits are netted by organisations charging all their exam fees up front and then cashing in when theyre not all taken. With a salary cap in Major League Baseball and or even revenue sharing to bring up the smaller teams, I would watch baseball again. They also need to have excellent oral and written communication skills.
