Winning the game, and losing respect

I always cheer for the teams which participate in the World Cup, especially for strong teams like Ukraine. I sympathizing with them when the referee made a wrong decision and sent one of their players off and contributed to a larger loss against Spain 4-0. I was admired by their sense of responsibility when they fought back and defeated KSa with the same result.

Today I lost a lot of my respect for the team not because they played a horrible match but mainly for the sense of selfishness among its players and the low moral of its "star" Shevchenko who pretended to fall in the penalty area and got the penalty kick and scored the only goal in the game.

It's also worth mentioning the stupid decision by the refree in giving the first yellow to Boazizi who was eventually sent off for the second yellow and the obvious hand touch of the Ukraine defender inside his penalty area that the refree did not blow a whistle for.

From the last 2 groups (France, Togo, Korea, Switzerland, Spain, Ukraine, Tunisia and KSA) only Spain deserves to qualify the the final 16, I hope we won;t see another world cup similar to 2002 when I really thought that Jordan could have easily made to the semi-finals had they made it to the world cup.

It was Ziad Jaziri who was sent out not BouAzizi, Tunisia also deserved to win the last match with Ukraine because of the hand ball from the Ukraine defender who tossed the ball by his hand in the 18 yards..

argentina sucked yesterday, although i cheer for argentina, but i guess the coach underestimated mexico, which made him choose a lame team formation, not until minute 74 that he made some changes.....
but the goal buy maxi rodrigez is more than awesome

I agree that Argentina was disappointing yesterday, HOWEVER MExico played like a World class team just like they did in the 2005 Continental Cup when they drew with Germany and barely lost to Brazil and Argentina.

The second goal of Rodriguez, i'm still watching it....

No, that Jaziri fool deserved his first card, can't remember the second one though.

Only Spain? What about Switzerland?

Argentina are cheats, you should stop rooting for them, yesterday's match was pure evidence, OBVIOUSLY wasting time ...

What's wrong with JP? Thought this post was about today's disgraceful game ...

killer bee bop if you watched some of yesterday's game you'll know that Argentina scored a 100% correct goal in minute 92 but the refree cancelled it because he's an idiot.

And if you watch football you'll know that wasting time towards the end is something that requires great experience that even Van Basten today accredited the Portuguese for. It's not cheating.

Switzerland deserve to win the group but the whole group was horrible it barely deserves to be in the qualifying stage group. Anyway the Swiss still have achance to prove that they deserve to be there tomorrow.

Ok, how is it that the Ukrainian projected a "sense of selfishness"? What the hell does that even mean?

As for Sheva's fall, he tripped over his own feet. Blame the idiot referee.

I'm short-tempered when it comes to Ukraine. Can you tell?

LOL Natalia take it easy, the players were selfish because they didn't pass players to each other as players should do and they started pointing fingers at each other when they wasted chances. Shevchenko tripped but he raised his hand asking for a penalty that shouldn't be the behavior of a big star. Anyway good luck tomorrow !

I think I missed that goal, not easy watching like that (P2PTV) ya know. And call it what you will, time wasting is cheap ...

What about the GHANA group? Another dodgy one in my opinion, not a single decent team ...

Go Swiss and Aussies! ;)

I've been reading and reading everywhere, especially on BBC, on that disgraceful match. If no one's gonna post about it then bye bye Jordanian blogosphere! Try something like: "The day football died" or "Football was the scapegoat", lol ...

And that certain match is not "necessary" and worthy of posting?

Besides, it's obviously different now since it's the World Cup, everyone talks footie these days!

Anyway, I don't think one should care about what others think of his blog, but that's just me ...
