Of mice and rabbits and dogs and men

We've had a few problems with animal right activists. They frequently broke into our labs and "freed" mice and rabbits that we've been experimenting on.

We changed the lab doors into well-locked ones and no more animals were freed anymore.

We are currently in the process of developing a new drug for valley fever (coccidiodmycosis) which is an infection very common in Southwest USA. This time we got some sponsorship from animal lovers because valley fever affects dogs as well as humans!

I'm not sure they know that, but lots and lots of rabbits and mice will be sacrificed (killed) during this research.
They probably consider dogs more important than mice and rabbits.
I consider humans more important than all of these animals!

They were sacrificed for the greater good.

Freeing them into the city will just get them killed or driven over sooner or later.

what's so hard about understanding this.

Allot of those animal-right defenders take those drugs that were developed under these experiments. Ban it from them and let's see what they say. I love animals, but this is ridiculous.

Our animal research lab is covered with barbed wire and ultimate security systems, and receives very little publicity [not many people know of the existance of such a place on campus] ... and yet every once in a while some animal right activist manages to breach the defenses and stir up some trouble...
I do feel sorry for animals being sacrificed or irreversibly damaged for testing our makeup for example, but really all animal shelters are so overstocked that they put hundreds of animals to death on a daily basis. That would be a more purposeful thing to look into rather than worry about animals that were bred solely for research purposes anyway!

well I wish there would be activists fighting for us and trying to ban the 'experimentation' with rotten foods, expired drugs and rice filled with 'mice' from getting to us in the middle east...maybe that would be a worthwhile activity:)

I hardly comment, however i did some searching and wound up
here "Of mice and rabbits and dogs and men". And I do have 2 questions for you if it's allright. Is it simply me or does it seem like some of these remarks look like left by brain dead folks? :-P And, if you are posting at other online social sites, I would like to follow everything fresh you have to post. Would you list of all of all your communal sites like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?
